Bleach is exciting! I've been followin this animé since my good friend Donna intorduced me to this amazing television program. Describing it successfully is rather like nailing jelly to a wall but nevertheless, here goes. The story follows a young man named Kurosaki Ichigo. He's interesting because he can see ghosts and takes the time to chat with these wayward spirits. The audience is introduced to the world of these spirits as we follow Ichigo on his adventures. There is a lot of exciting action in this series as we witness the Shinigami do battle with the Hollow, each other, and anyone else who upsets them or neglects to show the appropriate reverence to their fighting skill.
So, a Shinigami is a spirit whose is responsible for the balance of souls in the real world. A hollow is a spirit that was once human, but has decayed and is pretty mean. Most people cannot see hollow, but are vulnerable to their attack so it is the job of the shinigami to protect the people from this threat.
It turns out that our Ichigo is pretty nifty with a katana, or rather 'zanpaktou' [soul-cutting blade], himself and [spoiler warning!] proves himself worthy of the title 'Substitute Shinigami'.
The series is populated with lots of interesting characters and as the series progresses we're treated to lots of engaging back-stories and asides.
